At around 12:05 in the afternoon of January 11, 2017, elements of Sta Magdalena MPS responded and conducted chokepoint along Maharlika highway of Brgy San Bartolome, Sta Magdalena, Sorsogon on the reported transport of illegal logs from Brgy San Bartolome going to Sta Magdalena proper boarded in elf truck bearing plate number XPL 683.
Upon verification, it was found out that the elf truck was loaded with coco lumbers and failed to present any document or permit on the said lumbers. The driver Vincent Dojena, 19 years old, single and a resident of Brgy Yawe, Padre Burgos, Quezon no LTO Driver’s License was arrested and recovered/seized from his possession the above coco lumbers.
Subject person was informed the cause of his arrest and apprised of his constitutional rights in a dialect known to and understood by him and same undergone booking and documentation. Confiscated/seized items were also brought to Sta Magdalena MPS for evidentiary purposes and coordinated with MENRO personnel for the conduct of scaling of said lumbers and proper disposition.
A construction worker who was identified as ILDEFONSO LONCERAS y JOVEN, 41 years old, married, a a resident of Barangay Carayrayan, Sipocot, Camarines Sur was arrested at Barangay Colacling, Lupi, Camarines Sur on January 10, 2017, 4:00 PM by joint elements of Sipocot MPS led by SPO3 Albert A Joven and Lupi MPS led by PO3 Allan Madrona by virtue of Warrant of Arrest issued by Hon. CECILIA R. BORJA-SOLER, Presiding Judge of RTC Branch 29, Libmanan, Camarines Sur, dated July 14, 2009, for QUALIFIED THEFT under Criminal Case No. L-4572 with bail recommended of Php 24,000.00.
Arrested person is now under the custody of Sipocot MPS for proper disposition.
A certain ALFREDO MARZAN JR y MARAÑO, 42 years old, married, Barangay Kagawad/farmer, and a resident of Barangay Gabi, Sipocot, Camarines Sur was arrested at said Barangay on January 10, 2017, 2:00 PM by elements of Sipocot MPS led by SPO3 Albert A Joven by virtue of Warrant of Arrest issued by Hon. CECILIA R. BORJA-SOLER, Presiding Judge of RTC Branch 29, Libmanan, Camarines Sur, dated July 14, 2009, for QUALIFIED THEFT docketed under Criminal Case No. L-4572 with bail recommended of Php 24,000.00.
Subject person is now under the custody of Sipocot MPS for proper disposition.
On January 10, 2017 at 10:55 AM at Sitio Culapnitan, Brgy. Catagbacan, Goa, Camarines Sur, ELISIO ACAYEN y BOÑAGA, 50 years old, with live-in partner was arrested by elements of Goa MPS led by PCINSP ALDIN E ORQUITA, ACOP of Goa MPS by virtue of Warrant of Arrest issued by Hon. Ma. Angela Acompañado-Arroyo, Presiding Judge of RTC Branch 58, San Jose, Camarines Sur, dated November 23, 2016, for the crime of RAPE (Art 266-A and Art 266-B of the RPC as amended by R.A 8353) docketed under Criminal Case No. 2016-4654 with no bail recommended.
Arrested person is now under the custody of Goa MPS for proper disposition.
A suspected drug pusher identified as Ms. Judy Malate y Reynuso, 38 years old, single, jobless, and a resident of Purok-4, Brgy. 6, Bañadero, Legazpi City was arrested by the police operatives during the drug buy-bust operation on January 9, 2017 at about 7:05 PM,at Phase ll, Imperial Court Subd., Legazpi City.
Police operatives from Legazpi CPS led by PSINSP EFREN A PALOYO, under the supervision of PSUPT NILO S BERDIN JR., ACOP, in coordination with PDEA RO5, conducted an anti illegal drug buy-bust operation that resulted in the arrest of the suspect and seizure of one (1) heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be "shabu" obtained by the poseur buyer; three (3) pieces heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be "shabu"; and Php500.00 as buy-bust money.
The inventory and markings of seized pieces of evidence were made in the presence of the suspect, DOJ representative Elmer B Belga; Media representative Josefino Dioquino; and Brgy. Councilor Irene Romano of said place.
The suspect and seized drug items were brought to RCLO5 for drug test and laboratory examinations, respectively while appropriate case is now being prepared for filing in court.
In Sterling Insurance, Capitol Compound, Brgy. Burabod, Sorsogon City,1:00 PM,January 9, 2017 ,ALMA ENELDA REGIDOR, 52 years old, married and resident of Purok Aguinaldo, Brgy. Buhatan, Sorsogon City; and CHERRY LAROSA LOLOS, 34 years old, married and a resident of OLV Brgy Bibincahan, Sorsogon City. Status: Detained at Sorsogon CPS were both arrested by the police operatives for violation of Anti Red Tape Law.
The elements of Sorsogon CPS led by PSINSP ROMEO TRIÑANES ROCIO JR, Sorsogon CPS Intel Officer; PSINSP RAY ANTHONY MAGDAMIT VILLANUEVA, RID PRO5; and Mr. Vincent Nato, Acting Regional Director, LTO RO5, under the supervision of PSUPT DIONESIO TANAY LACEDA conducted an entrapment operation at Sterling Insurance, Capitol Compound, Brgy. Burabod, Sorsogon City which resulted to the arrest of the suspects after receiving the entrapment money in exchange of their services in the processing of the driver’s license at the aforementioned establishment.
That prior to the incident at around 10:45AM of the same date, PSINSP VILLANUEVA together with Mr. Vincent Nato of LTO RO5 coordinated with Sorsogon CPS to conduct entrapment operation. Subsequently, the team proceeded at said establishment wherein PO3 Felino Hate acted as a client to secure a driver’s license, the suspects approached the former and offered their services in a package amounting to One Thousand Four Hundred pesos (Php 1,400.00). Accordingly, he will not undergo the written examination or the actual driving test conducted by the LTO and other requirements of the said agency.
After which, Miss Lolos received the said amount from PO3 Hate and immediately identified himself as police officer and consequently implemented the arrest of the duo for Violation of RA 9485 otherwise known as Anti Red-Tape Act of 2007.
A case for violation of R.A. 9485 (Anti-Red Tape Law) was referred to City Prosecution Office thru inquest proceedings docketed under NPS # V-06-INQ-17A-002 against the suspects duly administered by Fiscal Melbert J. Balicano, Asst. City Prosecutor.
As a gesture of gratitude of PRO5 and Albay PPO during the turn-over of 18 packs cocaine to the Regional Director, Provincial Director and Chief of Police recovered by the two (2) fishermen in the shoreline of Bgy Sugod, Tiwi, Albay, they were given Certificate of Recognition during the Monday Flag Raising Ceremony held on January 9, 2016 and Medical and Dental Mission and Relief Assistance plus hair-cut held on January 10, 2016 at Bgy Sugod, Tiwi, Albay respectively.
On January 09, 2017(Monday) at 3:35 PM – Santos Lao Bayle aka “Lausay”, 61 y/o, with live-in partner, a resident of Gate 1 SPPVS Brgy. Bibincahan, Sorsogon City and listed in SCPS Drugs Watchlist Personality who previously voluntarily surrendered during Oplan Tokhang last July 2016, was arrested.
On the said date, time and place of arrest, personnel of Sorsogon CPS led by PSINSP ROMEO TRIÑANES ROCIO JR, SORCPS Intel PCO together with PSINSP REY ANTHONY MAGDAMIT VILLANUEVA, RID-PRO5 in coordination with PDEA R5, under the supervision of PSUPT DIONESIO TANAY LACEDA, COP SOR CPS conducted buy-bust operation that resulted in the arrest of the above named suspect after selling to a police poseur buyer one heat sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be methamphetamine hydrochloride commonly known as “shabu” in exchange of a one Thousand Peso Bill as marked money bearing Serial Number SC625637.
Ensuing lawful search conducted on subject person in the presence of required witnesses such as Mr. Vicente Loreno @ Spy Doble Dos of WOW FM Radio and Brgy Kagawad Arnel H. Anchinges of Brgy Bibincahan, Sorsogon City,, resulted to the recovery of the following items to wit;
a. Four (4) small sachets ;
b. Cash money amounting to Eight Hundred (Php850.00) in different denominations;
c. One (1) unit of red/black Nokia x1 Cellular phone;
d. One (1) matchbox containing one (1) sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected as shabu, and
e. Six (6) pieces of small aluminium foil.
The arrested suspect is presently under the custody of said MPS for proper disposition together with the pieces of evidence confiscated.
Roberto Bello y Bangalisan, 34 y/o, with live-in partner and a resident of Brgy. Panique, Aroroy, Masbate was arrested on January 09, 2017 (Monday) for Violation of Sec. 5, Art. II of RA 9165.
Personnel of Aroroy MPS arrested the accused by the virtue of WOA issued by Hon. Teofilo B. Tambago, Presiding Judge of RTC Brach 45, Masbate City, under CC# 18164, with NO BAIL RECOMMENDED.
The arrested accused is now presently under the said MPS for proper disposition.
On Monday, January 09, 2017 at about 10:15 AM – Ramon Peralta Jr y reyes, 29 y/o, single, painter and a resident of P-2, Brgy. Magang, Daet, Camarines Norte was arrested for Violation of P.D 1829 (Obstruction of Justice). Personnel of Daet MPS arrested the accused by the virtue of WOA issued by Hon. Judge Rene Morallo De La Cruz of MTC Daet, Camarines Norte docketed under CC# 16-1603 dated December 15, 2016 with bail recommended of Php12, 000.00.
The arrested accused is presently under the custody of said MPS for proper disposition.
On January 09, 2017, Monday at 2:30 PM at Brgy. Luy-a, Aroroy, Masbate, Roberto Albao y Agaya, 38, married, panner and a resident of the said place, was arrested for the crime of MURDER.
The personnel of Aroroy MPS, arrested the accused by the virtue of WOA issued by Hon. Teofilo B. Tambago, Presiding Judge of RTC Branch 45, Masbate City for Murder under CC# 18191, with NO BAIL RECOMMENDED.
The arrested accused is presently under the custody of said MPS for proper disposition.
An incident of Indiscriminate Firing was reported at the Pasacao MPS after the witness claimed that an officer of Philippine Navy fired at the coast last Monday afternoon, January 2, 2017.
The suspect was identified as Petty Officer 3rd Class Ryan Lumbre y Betito from Sitio Tribu, Barangay Balogo, Pasacao, Camarines Sur, was having a drinking spree outside the residence of Abelino Monares and subsequently drew his 9mm pistol from his waist and fired several times at the coast of the aforementioned place.
Ana Negrito y Monares, a 51-year old businesswoman from the same place, turned-over five cartridge shells to the responding personnel of Pasacao MPS and positively identified the suspect.
He was arrested for the cases of violation of section 28 of RA 10591 an “Act Providing for a Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition and Providing Penalties and The Alarms Scandal were filed against Lumbre with a recommended bail of P80,000 and P2 000.00 respectively but was also released after posting the cash bond.
The National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) is set to open the Online Exam Application Scheduling System (OLEASS) for April 23, 2017 PNP Entrance and promotional exam.
The period of online application scheduling for PNP Entrance exam is on January 30 to February 3, 2017. NAPOLCOM OLEASS page will be available at 12 noon on January 30 onward.
Meanwhile, online exam application for promotional examination is open from February 6 to 10, 2017 for Police Officer (PO); February 13-17, 2017 for Senior Police Officer (SPO), Police Inspector and Superintendent.
NAPOLCOM announced that the period for filing of application is from February 27 to March 24, 2017.

On January 5, 2017 at around 11:30 A.M. at Brgy Esperanza, Pilar, Sorsogon, elements of Pilar MPS arrested Rolando Ocharan Lodanco, 83 years old, widow, farmer and a resident of Brgy Esperanza, Pilar, Sorsogon by virtue of Warrant of Arrest duly issued by Hon. Judge Arnel P Cesar of MTC-Pilar, Sorsogon dated October 5, 2015 for Violation of RA 8048 as amended by RA 10593 docketed under Criminal Case No. 4711 with bail recommended fixed at twelve thousand (Php12,000.00) pesos.
Arrested person was apprised of his constitutional rights in a dialect known and understood by him and was brought to Pilar MPS for booking, documentation and proper disposition.
