Bikol PNP presents results of SACLEO Featured

Camp BGen Simeon A Ola, Legazpi City – In a press conference held on February 26, 2021, PRO5 Regional Director, PBGEN BART R BUSTAMANTE presented to members of the media in Bicol the firearms, ammunition, and explosives recovered/confiscated during its 2-day SACLEO or Simultaneous Anti-Criminality and Law Enforcement Operations which began on February 25, 2021.

SACLEO is an improved version of the old One Time, Big Time campaign of the PNP against firearms.

A total of 103 firearms were presented among consisting of 54 cal. 38 revolver; 22 caliber .45 pistols; 6 cal .22 revolver; 1 cal. 5.56 revolver; 7 9 mm pistols; 1 cal. 357; 1 rifle grenade; and 5 shotguns. Also recovered were 5 hand grenades.

According to RD Bustamante the simultaneous operations are part of the PNP’s efforts in preparation for the coming elections preparations of which are to begin before the close of the year as well as the intensification of the campaign against loose firearms.

He also stressed that there will be more SACLEO operations in the future and assured the public of its commitment to curtail the proliferation of loose firearms in the future.

A firearm is classified as a loose firearm when the owner fails to register said firearm or fails to renew such registration.
