Police Regional Office 5 headed by PBGEN JONNEL C ESTOMO, RD held a simple yet stirring retirement honors for PMGEN ARNEL B ESCOBAL, Director, DIDM on August 19, 2021 at the PRO5 Grandstand Camp BGen Simeon A Ola, Legazpi City.

RD ESCOBAL was the former Regional Director of PRO5 from June 6, 2018-October 2019 where he has known as the “People’s General”.

During his term, he intensified the campaign against illegal drugs through the project dubbed as “Sama-samang Iangat ang Kabikolan Ayaw sa Droga” or SIKAD. It was a dual advocacy campaign promoting the benefits of cycling in one’s physical fitness minimizing the chance for drug use and influence as well as a social activity where cyclists and cycling enthusiasts may come together to bond and enjoy their similar interests.

In addition, he also initiated various anti-criminality campaigns to fight insurgency, terrorism and other forms of criminalities with the end goal of preserving peace and order in the Bicol region.

He is a full-blooded Bicolano and a true son of Rinconada in Camarines Sur. He is a member of Hinirang Class of 1987. He also pursued and completed his Bachelor of Laws degree at the Aquinas University of Legazpi and became a member of the Philippine Bar in 1998.

He has held various key positions within the military and police services in both the regional and national levels making him one of the esteemed police officers in the country.

During the retirement ceremony, he was bestowed with several awards to honor and merit his contributions in the organization for his 38 years, 2 months, and 18 years of faithful and honorable service with the Philippine National Police from August 1, 1983 to August 19, 2021.

Indeed, his service will truly leave an indelible mark to the people he had worked and served, most especially the Bicolanos.
